New herb varieties added to our shop this week include:-
Thyme, Russetings. (Thymus serpyllum ‘Russetings’)
This is a creeping form of thyme with dark green leaves and pink / purple flowers in summer
Good for ground cover or as a decorative aromatic plant.
Elecampane (Inula Helenium)
Also known as Wild Sunflower, Horse Elder and Scabwort.
A herbaceous perennial, with large mid green and slightly downy leaves, and bright yellow flowers in summer.
Elecampane is mainly a medicinal herb, and is used in the treatment
of respiratory complaints such as catarrh, whooping cough and bronchitis, and as an aromatic tonic.
Best grown in a sheltered location due to its height.
